Job Summary: 

Are you passionate about supporting your local community and making a positive impact on the education of young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and friendly individual to join our team as a Volunteer Treasurer at the LFA Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). As the Treasurer, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of our PTA, ensuring that funds are allocated wisely and transparently to enhance the educational experience of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounts for the PTA, including income, expenses, and donations.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for the PTA meetings, providing an overview of the financial status and any budgetary updates.
  • Collaborate with the PTA committee to develop and oversee the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the PTA’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage the collection and processing of donations, fundraising proceeds, and other financial transactions.
  • Assist in the coordination of fundraising events, including the tracking of funds raised and the allocation of resources as per the PTA’s guidelines.
  • Work closely with the PTA committee  and school leadership team to provide financial guidance and support for various initiatives and projects.
  • Liaise with the school administration, teachers, and parents to address any financial concerns or inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and PTA policies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to effectively handle financial tasks in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records and reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with PTA members, school staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles or a willingness to learn.
  • Reliability and commitment to fulfilling the duties of the Treasurer position.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a background in finance or accounting is desirable but not required.
  • A genuine passion for supporting education and the growth of children.
